Mauritzfontein’s consistently successful sire Ideal World had a pair of winners at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday. It was a 100% strike rate for Ideal World, who had just two runners on the day.
The son of Kingmambo’s first success came when his two-year-old daughter Alannah won the second race.
Trained by Paul Lafferty, Alannah turned the Online Form Guide www.gallop.co.za Maiden Juvenile Plate (Fillies) (1400m) into a one-horse race.
Under Kabelo Matsunyane, the filly pulled well clear of her rivals to shed her maiden impressively with a three length score.
Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Alannah is out of the Silvano mare Mrs Simpson.
Ideal World’s second success on Wednesday came his son Uzwano won the fifth race at Hollywoodbets Greyville.
Trained by Dean Kannemeyer, the gelded three-year-old, under Sean Veale, stayed on to land the Tabgold New Soccer Corners Class 4 (1600m) by just under half a length.
Bred by Wilgerbosdrift & Mauritzfontein, Uzwano has won twice from just eight starts.
Out of the Horse Chestnut mare Banbury, Uzwano is bred on the same Ideal World/Horse Chestnut cross as Met winning champion Smart Call.
Ideal World has had another good season in 2024-2025, with his flagbearers including G2 TAB Gauteng Guineas winner Parisian Walkway, useful filly Mocha Blend, Listed East Cape Oaks winner Lotus Island and Listed Monaco Sport Of Kings Kenilworth Cup runner up Blackberry Malt.
