Drakenstein Stud’s bang inform stallion What A Winter came up with another feature race winner on Tuesday.
His hugely exciting two-year-old daughter Get Up turned the G3 TAB Pretty Polly Stakes (1100m) into a one-horse race with a stunning performance.

The Sean Tarry trained filly roared home, under Craig Zackey, to claim the Pretty Polly Stakes by a widening three lengths.
What A Winter is also the sire of Pretty Polly Stakes runner up Lady Harlequin.

It is the second year in a row that a What A Winter filly has won the Pretty Polly Stakes, with One Fine Winter having won the same race last year.

Bred and owned by Drakenstein Stud, Get Up is out of the Kingsbarns mare Gabor.

Tuesday’s winner has won two of three starts, with Get Up having finished third in the G2 Wilgerbosdrift SA Fillies Nursery.

Her four time G1 winning sire What A Winter is also responsible for the top-class mare Asiye Phambili, a convincing winner of Monday’s G3 Dennis Drier Poinsettia Stakes.
